Humidifers and water evaporator panels.

 Water contains dissolved minerals that remain after water has evaporated. Hard water has more dissolved minerals than soft water. These minerals are left on the humidifier evaporator panel after the water has evaporated. Most humidifer manufacturers recommend that the water panels be changed at least once per year. Depending on the amount of usage and the hardness of your water your evaporator panels may need changed more or less often.

  Honeywell manufacturers a water panel that has an Agion coating that is designed to last the life of the water  panel and prevent surface growth of algae, bacteria, fungus, and mold. It is available to replace most Aprilaire water panels as well as other brands. Many sizes of Aprialire water panels are interchangeable with Honeywell water panels, Totaline water panels, Bryant water panels, Carrier water panels, Lennox water panels, Hamilton Water panels, Chippewa water panels and Lasko water panels.
